Eagle Ray Robotics joins Ocean Autonomy Cluster

Scottish deeptech startup Eagle Ray Robotics has joined the Ocean Autonomy Cluster. Founded in 2023 and a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s Venture Builder Incubator 4.0. The company is developing Constellation OS, a hardware-agnostic operating system designed to enable seamless networked autonomy across different types of underwater vehicles.

By removing dependencies on specific platforms or manufacturers, Constellation OS allows remotely operated, autonomous, and hybrid systems to cooperate in real time.

The goal is to establish this as the common standard for underwater operations, improving interoperability, mission efficiency, and scalability across the maritime domain.

Eagle Ray Robotics brings specialized expertise in subsea swarming, distributed sensing, and mesh-network technologies.

Their solutions allow multiple vehicles to share information, coordinate tasks, and adapt dynamically to changing underwater conditions. This capability strengthens collaborative projects in multi-domain systems, where reliable communication and coordinated autonomy are essential for complex marine operations.

Eagle Ray Robotics first product release of Constellation OS is scheduled for March 2026 and they now seek integration partners.

Through its membership in OAC, the company hopes to participate in cluster projects and events while contributing knowledge and partnerships in developing subsea autonomy solutions.

“We look forward to collaborating with other cluster members and contributing to the development of smarter, networked underwater systems,” says Stephen Jordan, Founder and CEO at Eagle Ray Robotics.

“Ocean Autonomy Cluster provides an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and partnership in the growing field of autonomous maritime technology, and we are proud to be a part of this,” Jordan adds.
