Les saken på norsk på fylkeskommunens nettsider Trøndelag County Municipality has decided to support Fremtidens Industri through a three-year European space network. FI (Fremtidens Industri) is at the forefront of technology development in Trøndelag. National collaboration is more important than ever, and it is great that a large, innovative cluster network like FI is participating in the development of critical space technology such as satellites and GPS, said Ingvill Dalseg during the Main Committee meeting on March 19. At the meeting, politicians unanimously approved funding for Fremtidens Industri through regional development funds. This project will give Fremtidens Industri a role in the important space collaboration taking place in Europe. Growing Demand Norway is a member of the European Space Agency (ESA), which works with satellite-based communication and navigation. The EU aims to have European research institutions and businesses take on a greater role in developing this technology to reduce dependence on American space infrastructure. This initiative will also help minimize reliance on non-European components in the industry's development. Now, the national network ESA BIC (European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre), led from Kjeller, wants to expand its reach across the entire country. In Trøndelag, Fremtidens Industri has received NOK 3 million to take on a three-year role in the network. Support for EU Qualification Trøndelag has strong technology environments with companies engaged in space technology, and the industry is experiencing rapid growth and development. FI's role in this project will be of great importance for the further development and internationalization of Trøndelag’s businesses within space and space technology, says Dalseg. Fremtidens Industri will guide Trøndelag-based companies in the space sector to qualify for EU programs. Companies admitted to ESA BIC receive financial support, technical expertise, and access to ESA's resources and facilities. The access to European networks could also benefit adjacent industries such as defense, security, ICT, surveillance, and climate and environmental monitoring. The project will run from 2025 to 2027, with a total budget of NOK 6 million.
