Fremtidens Industri and Ocean Autonomy Cluster welcomed a delegation from Business Turku to Trondheim this week, as part of a joint effort to strengthen Nordic cooperation in maritime autonomy, emerging technologies and dual-use innovation. The Finnish delegation, representing Business Turku and the broader blue economy ecosystem, visited Fremtidens Industri to learn more about the Ocean Autonomy Cluster and NORDSEC – the Nordic Defence and Security Cluster. They were also introduced to Trøndelag’s role as a national test region for autonomous maritime systems, offering unique infrastructure for innovation in both civilian and defense contexts. Discussions highlighted how dual-use innovation – technologies applicable to both civilian and defense purposes – offers a powerful opportunity for Nordic collaboration. The visit concluded with a networking lunch, where Finnish and Norwegian participants connected over shared ambitions and ideas for future collaboration.
