Challenge: Advancing Underwater Communication

As part of UDT – Undersea Defence Technology – in Oslo from March 25 to 27, 2025, companies are invited to present new ideas and solutions to improve underwater communication.

Long-distance underwater communication is a critical technology with applications in both civilian and military contexts. In industries such as fisheries, aquaculture, and oil and gas, advancements in underwater communication and acoustic signal handling have significantly improved over the past decades. In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, dual-use technology is becoming increasingly important, with implications for future innovation, national security, and economic growth.

UDT – Undersea Defence Technology

At the upcoming UDT – Undersea Defence Technology – event in Oslo from March 25 to 27, 2025, a new idea competition, the DualTech Challenge, has been announced. Companies are invited to present innovative ideas and solutions to enhance underwater communication. This represents a unique opportunity for Norwegian companies developing relevant technology to showcase their innovations and establish valuable connections.

The deadline for submissions is February 17, 2025. Entries can be submitted via a simple questionnaire on DualTech Challenge 2025. This platform could play a key role in advancing technology development and market opportunities in the underwater sector.
