The event, held in Trondheim, served as an important meeting point for public procurers and suppliers. The day began with a video greeting from Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Marianne Sivertsen Næss, who provided insights on the political context. This was followed by speeches from leaders at NHO (the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise) and Innovation Norway, all emphasizing the importance of strengthening the domestic market as a foundation for Norwegian export success. In addition, Norway will expand its support for Ukraine,” Stensrud stated. This facilitated new collaborations and strengthened dialogue between public and private actors. The conference underscored the importance of innovative procurements in addressing public needs and enhancing maritime emergency preparedness. With an estimated total value of more than 80 billion NOK in upcoming procurements, Norwegian companies are positioned for exciting opportunities. The event, held in Trondheim, served as an important meeting point for public procurers and suppliers. The day began with a video greeting from Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Marianne Sivertsen Næss, who provided insights on the political context. This was followed by speeches from leaders at NHO (the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise) and Innovation Norway, all emphasizing the importance of strengthening the domestic market as a foundation for Norwegian export success. Photo: Lars Bugge Aarset/Fremtidens Industri Doubling the Navy Among the highlights was a presentation by Commander Jon Inge Stensrud, who outlined significant upcoming procurements in the maritime defence sector. “The Navy will double its capacity and increase its collaboration with industry. In addition, Norway will expand its support for Ukraine,” Stensrud stated. This facilitated new collaborations and strengthened dialogue between public and private actors. The conference underscored the importance of innovative procurements in addressing public needs and enhancing maritime emergency preparedness. With an estimated total value of more than 80 billion NOK in upcoming procurements, Norwegian companies are positioned for exciting opportunities. The event was organized by the Norwegian Supplier Development Program (LUP) in collaboration with NHO, Innovation Norway, and MIDSEC.
