Bridges and tunnels are expensive infrastructures with a great need for maintenance. But also a full-fledged ferry service can be expensive. How do we ensure good mobility across canals and rivers without major costs? Here is the solution.
Milli-Ampere is a fullscale autonomous and unmanned passenger ferry intended for use on urban waterways. This on-demand ferry is proposed as an alternative to a bridge that would otherwise hinder other boat traffic in the area, but is also a prototype for future urban mobility. NTNU is leading the development work.
