The Ocean Autonomy Cluster keeps growing, and we warmly welcome the leading nationwide public transport provider, Boreal, to our cluster.
Boreal Group has apr. 3000 employees, and operates buses, coaches, trams, high-speed passenger ferries, and car ferries. Now, Boreal is hoping to learn more about autonomous technologies and sustainable maritime transport.
“We believe that becoming part of the Ocean Autonomy Cluster will be a shortcut to the future of sea transport. We then hope to be able to utilize this shortcut in collaboration with other members of the cluster,” says Erlend Solem, project manager at Boreal.
Cluster Manager Frode is happy to welcome a new national transport company to the cluster:
– Boreal has hands-on knowledge and longstanding experience in operating ferries along the coast. The cluster is a great place to exchange challenges and opportunities in automatization with autonomous tech developers and maritime companies. We warmly welcome Boreal to join the conversation on how we can prepare today’s maritime sector for an autonomous future.
