Established in 2022, the group is still relatively unknown outside campus, but is now taking steps to build stronger connections with the maritime industry. ![IMG_0590](https://oceanautonomy.no/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_0590.jpg?width=6000&height=4000&name=IMG_0590.jpg) The ROV’s internal electronics chamber. Photo: Sub Horizon The student team has already developed two remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and is currently planning to build both a mothership and a test vessel in the coming year. Rather than focusing on competitions, Sub-Horizon prioritizes collaboration with companies and sees the cluster as a valuable platform for engaging with relevant events and seminars. ### Connecting students and industry “By joining the Ocean Autonomy Cluster, we want to bridge the gap between engineering students and industry. ![styret_dress](https://oceanautonomy.no/hs-fs/hubfs/styret_dress.jpg?width=418&height=341&name=styret_dress.jpg) This not only strengthens our own learning and development, but also supports more efficient recruitment processes for companies,” says Savan Najmaddin, Chief Operating Officer in Sub-Horizon. Later the group will host *Sub-Horizon Day*, an official NTNU event where they will showcase their projects with a live feed, and share their ambitions for the year ahead. The event is aimed at industry partners and the team hopes to attract interest early. Rather than focusing on competitions, Sub-Horizon prioritizes collaboration with companies and sees the cluster as a valuable platform for engaging with relevant events and seminars. Connecting students and industry “By joining the Ocean Autonomy Cluster, we want to bridge the gap between engineering students and industry. This not only strengthens our own learning and development, but also supports more efficient recruitment processes for companies,” says Savan Najmaddin, Chief Operating Officer in Sub-Horizon. Later the group will host Sub-Horizon Day, an official NTNU event where they will showcase their projects with a live feed, and share their ambitions for the year ahead. The event is aimed at industry partners and the team hopes to attract interest early.
