"We are excited to host next year's World Championship in Autonomous Maritime Technology in Trondheim," says Line Ingebrigtsen Fjørstad, Commissioner for Environment, Transport, and Business in the technology capital of Trondheim.

Together with Michelle S. Wright and Anne Reinton from Trondheim Municipality, she visited the Njord Autonomous Ship Challenge taking place at Nyhavna in Trondheim this week. This is the world's only student-driven international competition in autonomous maritime technology. 

"It has been very exciting to see how the different teams have solved today's competition task," she says.

The teams

This year the seven teams comes from six different countries. AGH Solar Boat Team from Poland, Técnico Solar Boat from Portugal, Strathclyde Marine Robotics Society - Strath Voyager from Scotland, Aritra IITM from India, Iceberg ASV from Canada and from Norway Navier USN from University of South-Eastern Norway and Vortex NTNU.
