Transittgata 10 is already home to several companies, with more on their way.** Nyhavna is undergoing major development, but activity does not have to wait until new buildings are completed. At Transittgata 10, existing space is being used by companies working in ocean technology and automation, with several more companies moving in. Norse Navigation has been based in the building since before the summer, while CGO Automasjon moved in on 1 August. Ocean Access is planning to move into office space at the turn of the year. Zeabuz and Blueye Robotics also use parts of the workshop facilities for workshop activities and storage. “Transittgata 10 is an ideal fit for us at Norse Navigation. It gives us flexible office space in a central Trondheim location, right in the middle of a growing cluster of established and emerging maritime technology companies. At Transittgata 10, we are close to several of our customers, such as Oceantech Innovation and Zeabuz, and alongside other founders and companies working on the same challenges as we do. That makes it easy to build connections, share experiences and find new collaborations. Here, we have offices, meeting rooms and our own workshop under one roof, where we build machines and automation cabinets. The premises suit our size today while giving us room to grow within the same building. Being right by the sea is an advantage when much of what we deliver goes to the maritime sector – and the view certainly doesn't make the workday any worse. We believe this is an environment that will give us customers, expertise and inspiration for further growth,” says Christoffer Garmager Okkenhaug, CEO of CGO Automasjon. – Ocean technology companies are growing, and we see a strong demand for flexible space. Companies want to be able to move in at short notice and rent exactly the space they need. Photo: Lars Bugge Aarset/Fremtidens Industri ### Flexible space in a changing district Transittgata 10 is owned by Nyhavna Utvikling, which is developing large parts of the area for residential use in the longer term. Development will take time, and in the meantime, existing buildings can provide useful space for companies that do not require newly built premises. – We are going to develop large parts of Transittgata for residential use, but that will take time. This means there will be buildings with a somewhat uncertain lifespan, but which are still perfectly suitable for companies that do not have particularly high requirements for building standards, says Ragnar Eggen of Nyhavna Utvikling. For Nyhavna Utvikling, making use of the existing building stock is also about creating activity in the area ahead of further development. – We want to facilitate business activity and bring life to older buildings that otherwise would not have much use going forward. Companies have different needs at different stages, from office space to workshops, storage and facilities for testing and development. Transittgata 10 demonstrates how existing buildings can help meet these needs while Nyhavna continues its transformation. With several ocean technology companies already based there and new companies on their way, Transittgata 10 is becoming part of an increasingly active business environment at Nyhavna. Transittgata 10 is already home to several companies, with more on their way. Nyhavna is undergoing major development, but activity does not have to wait until new buildings are completed. At Transittgata 10, existing space is being used by companies working in ocean technology and automation, with several more companies moving in. Norse Navigation has been based in the building since before the summer, while CGO Automasjon moved in on 1 August. Ocean Access is planning to move into office space at the turn of the year. Zeabuz and Blueye Robotics also use parts of the workshop facilities for workshop activities and storage. “Transittgata 10 is an ideal fit for us at Norse Navigation. It gives us flexible office space in a central Trondheim location, right in the middle of a growing cluster of established and emerging maritime technology companies. We also really appreciate that existing buildings at Nyhavna are being made available while the long-term plans for the area take shape,” says Henrik Foss, CEO and founder of Norse Navigation. At Transittgata 10, we are close to several of our customers, such as Oceantech Innovation and Zeabuz, and alongside other founders and companies working on the same challenges as we do. That makes it easy to build connections, share experiences and find new collaborations. Here, we have offices, meeting rooms and our own workshop under one roof, where we build machines and automation cabinets. The premises suit our size today while giving us room to grow within the same building. Being right by the sea is an advantage when much of what we deliver goes to the maritime sector – and the view certainly doesn't make the workday any worse. We believe this is an environment that will give us customers, expertise and inspiration for further growth,” says Christoffer Garmager Okkenhaug, CEO of CGO Automasjon. – Ocean technology companies are growing, and we see a strong demand for flexible space. Companies want to be able to move in at short notice and rent exactly the space they need. Development will take time, and in the meantime, existing buildings can provide useful space for companies that do not require newly built premises. – We are going to develop large parts of Transittgata for residential use, but that will take time. This means there will be buildings with a somewhat uncertain lifespan, but which are still perfectly suitable for companies that do not have particularly high requirements for building standards, says Ragnar Eggen of Nyhavna Utvikling. For Nyhavna Utvikling, making use of the existing building stock is also about creating activity in the area ahead of further development. – We want to facilitate business activity and bring life to older buildings that otherwise would not have much use going forward. At the same time, we can offer flexible office space to companies that want to establish themselves at Nyhavna, says Eggen.
