Autonomy makes the human role more important

Ocean Autonomy Cluster welcomes NeuWave Technologies Limited as a new member. The UK-based company develops advanced wave data modelling and forecasting solutions designed to support safer and more efficient offshore operations.
At the heart of NeuWave’s platform is a proprietary, AI-powered forecasting engine that delivers wave condition predictions with up to 20 times higher accuracy than standard marine models. The system refreshes forecasts in minutes rather than hours, providing near real-time insight into evolving sea states. This enables smarter decision-making across navigation planning, emergency rerouting, and metocean reporting, helping operators reduce downtime, protect assets, and de-risk offshore investments.
NeuWave Technologies has developed data modelling structures capable of predicting wave height with a sub-10 centimetre error margin. Combined with the company’s digital portal, this provides offshore vessel operators with high-resolution decision support, enabling improved planning of operations, reduced risk, and more efficient use of vessels and resources.
The technology is particularly relevant for autonomous and remotely operated maritime systems, where accurate and timely understanding of sea state is critical for mission planning, system performance, and operational safety.
“Accurate wave prediction is fundamental to offshore operations, especially as autonomy becomes more prevalent at sea. Our goal is to provide operators with actionable insight they can trust when planning and executing missions,” says Jana Stella, CEO of NeuWave Technologies Limited.
By joining Ocean Autonomy Cluster, NeuWave Technologies aims to expand its network and connect with early adopters of its wave prediction technology across the maritime autonomy ecosystem.
“We see OAC as a strong arena for collaboration and knowledge sharing. We hope to connect with partners and operators who want to explore how improved wave intelligence can enhance offshore decision-making,” Stella adds.
As part of the cluster, NeuWave Technologies will contribute by sharing its expertise in wave patterns and offshore conditions, offering input that can support more informed operational decisions across the value chain. The company is also open to collaborative discussions that benefit the wider community of technology providers, operators, and researchers within OAC.
Ocean Autonomy Cluster looks forward to working with NeuWave Technologies Limited to strengthen data-driven operations and further advance autonomy and safety in offshore and maritime environments.
